Salute to the Red, White, and Blue! It’s been confirmed that the other man of steel will be donning the patriotic suit created by Norman Osborne (yes, from Spider-man), though (obviously) neither Osborne nor Spider-man will be making an appearance in the movie.
Kinda makes you wish we lived in an alternate universe where Marvel owned the film rights to ALL of their characters eh?

Okay.
No. You can’t just put in the Iron Patriot without having the whole backstory. The whole Civil War. The whole shit with Iron Man and Captain America and the whole of the Marvel Universe being torn apart. Then being manipulated by one man, a man who can now use a superheroes identity against them. A man who has the power to make his own avengers. A man who will use criminals as his heroes, because they’re easier to manage than real heroes. Because you can buy them with money or a get-out-of-jail-free card. You won’t get the absolute fear and mistrust of the superheroes as they all turn against each other. I mean, Steve and Tony fall out. Iron Man and Captain America. This armour is not just an outfit a man wore to try and pretend to be Iron Man and Captain America in one. Oh no. This armour signifies the whole of Civil War. The fragility of humans and how easy it is to manipulate ordinary people’s fear for the Superheroes. The ability to exploit the most powerful man in the world because of his fear of his other half. The ability to make someone kill a god. To be powerful enough to wage war on Asgard. And win.
But instead they’ll probably put in a crappy storyline and I will sit there crying over the death of one of the greatest, scariest villians Marvel probably ever created.
